Now that the holiday decorating season has come to a close, I am happy to report that the release of Twinkle! The Ultimate Guide to Outdoor Decorating, was a resounding success! Twinkle! became the #1 new release on Amazon across all of its categories and became the #1 Best Seller – period – in the Home Decorating category.

I am thrilled with the book’s support, and I continue to be surprised by the momentum that the book is still carrying even as we get farther and farther away from the Christmas decorating season.

I did notice that someone gave the book a 2-star rating on Amazon, but they didn’t leave a review. I sure would like to know how it could have been better for them. Or what they found so bad about it. I always encourage folks to provide detail feedback when posting reviews – of any product. Good, bad, or ugly. The input from reviews drives companies to get better at what they do. No matter how good they may already be. Ratings without a review don’t provide any context for other potential buyers or provide us with any actionable feedback. So, please consider writing constructive reviews when you post product reviews.

But I digress. I am thrilled with how well Twinkle! has been accepted by decorators everywhere. Thank you!

You can grab the kindle or paperback version from Amazon, the ebook version from just about anywhere you find ebooks, and both versions are available directly from The Christmas Light Emporium as well.

I’ve been a Christmas fanatic since I was a kid. My love of Christmas turned me into an extreme decorator as an adult. Being an early adopter of Christmas lighting technology brought me opportunities to create extravagant displays for commercial projects. I founded the first company in the United States to specialize exclusively in the design and installation of synchronized Christmas light and music shows for the commercial market. Over the course of about 12 years we designed and installed huge light shows for folks like Cesar Millan, Six Flags, The Atlanta Braves, and NASA along with dozens and dozens of Zoos, parks, cities, shopping centers  and other commercial venues all over the world.

I sold that company (www.extremelightscapes.com) a couple of years ago so I could focus on growing my eCommerce business, The Christmas Light Emporium. Now I get to help tons of other folks create displays, both commercial and residential, that create memories, make people smile, and, ultimately, create more joy in the world!

I’ve always wanted to write this book! I have such a huge passion for Christmas decorating. And through decades of designing and building displays all over the world and providing products to other folks for building their dream displays – I have learned A LOT!

That’s what this book is all about – getting all the great information out of my head and into yours! I started writing it a few months ago and am *almost* finish with the draft. Then into editing and eventually (hopefully before the end of the summer!) it will go to print and be ready to share with you!

The first outline I wrote would have resulted in a book that was about 800-1,000 pages long. I didn’t think anybody would want to read all that (and it would never get finished!), so I decided to focus on the basics of outdoor decorating for the home decorators – and/or those of you who want to learn how to do your own Christmas decorating.
